The pressure young athletes carry
Young athletes face real pressure — from competition, from teammates, sometimes from the adults around them. The nerves before a match and the frustration after a mistake are genuine, and most kids never get any structured help learning to handle them. Physical training is everywhere; mental training is rare.
FocusPoint gives young athletes an approachable, voice-first way to build mental skills: focus, confidence, composure under pressure, and the ability to bounce back. Because it is a conversation rather than a worksheet, it fits how kids actually like to engage.
How parents can help (and what to avoid)
The car ride home matters more than most parents realize. Leading with "did you win?" teaches kids that results are what you value; leading with "did you enjoy it?" or "what did you work on?" teaches that effort and growth matter. Our sports parent’s guide goes deep on what helps and what unintentionally adds pressure.
FocusPoint supports the work you’re already doing — giving your athlete a private space to process the game and practical tools they can use on their own.
Age and consent
FocusPoint is not directed to children under 13. Young athletes between 13 and 18 should use FocusPoint with parental or guardian consent and involvement. FocusPoint is mental performance coaching — not therapy or clinical treatment. If your child is struggling with their mental health, please consult a qualified professional.
